October General Membership MeetingSeptember 28th, 2009 / Author: meptsoOur October General membership meeting of the Mustang Elementary PTSO will be held on Monday, October, 5th, 2009. There will be two meeting times. At 3:15pm we will be meeting in the school library and at 6:15pm we will meet in the school cafeteria. You may attend either or both meetings. We will be going over old business and discussing plans for the Fall Festival to take place later in the month. Volunteer opportunities are available. Minutes to be read: no previous minutes due to 1st meeting in order now. Treasury report read by Kerri Mitchell ( treasurer) Principles report: Mrs. Semmler reported enrollment for 2009 – 2010 school year was currently at 640 students for Mustang Elementary School. New Business: Fall Festival will be held Friday October 23rd, 2009, Volunteers for fall festival committee needed for planning. T-shirt sales to begin in the middle of September, Julie Daniels passed out paper with screen design for t-shirts. Family fall cleanup- we will talk to area businesses about donations as well as families that would donate flowers, mulch, shrubs to help beautify the school grounds. We will also send a note out to encourage families come on a set date to help with grounds cleanup. Classroom competition to see who got the most memberships talked about as an idea to raise PTSO awareness. Classroom with the most memberships would win a popcorn party or free admission to the fall festival. Question and answer time: no questions voiced. Giving TreeSeptember 14th, 2009 / Author: meptsoPlease consider stopping by the entryway to the office and the lobby to take a peek at our Giving Tree. We have asked the teachers to put small wish-list items for their classrooms on “ornaments” for us to hang on the tree. If you see an item you can either pick up on your next shopping trip or bring from home, please feel free to drop it with that teacher or in the office. There will be two meeting times. At 3:15pm we will be meeting in the school library and at 6:15pm we will meet in the school cafeteria. You may attend either or both meetings. If you have not yet filled out a membership form and paid dues, you may do so at this meeting. Membership forms will be coming home with your children by the end of this week. Membership dues are $5.00 per individual and $10.00 per whole family. Families taking advantage of the $10.00 rate must register at the same time. Parents and students may come and visit their new teachers and view their new classrooms. Please be sure to stop in at the cafeteria and visit the PTSO table to sign up for PTSO membership. Memberships are $5 for individuals or $10 for the whole family. Overstock of last year’s PTSO/Mustang Elementary tee-shirts, hoodies, and waterbottles will also be for sale at greatly reduced prices!
